Rubber materials are utilized in automotive industry as anti-vibration bushes, engine mounts, and shock absorbers especially for the vibration, noise and shock absorbing purposes. General purpose elastomers are blended with each other to combine their individual properties in one material. It is worth mentioning here that with increasing demand in …
In the current research, investigation of natural rubber (NR)/styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) blend reinforced with carbon black (CB)/silica (SiO2) and with and without silane coupling agent (SCA) was analyzed. The total hybrid filler (CB/SiO2) concentration in the composite was fixed at 50 phr. Cure characteristics, mechanical properties and surface …
The effect of polymer ratio and microstructure of SBR on blend morphology and nanomechanical mapping of unfilled NR/SBR blends will be discussed. With nanoindentation techniques available through the use of atomic force microscopy, nanomechanical properties are determined and compared with macroscopic values obtained by dynamic mechanical analysis.

1. Introduction. General purpose elastomers are blended with each other to combine their individual properties in one material. In most cases, natural rubber (NR) is not miscible with synthetic rubbers such as styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR), and therefore, the components of the blend arrange in different domain morphologies [1,2,3,4].Domain morphology affects the …
